How looking at things from a different perspective can help you find your muse
“IF YOU CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK AT THINGS, THE THINGS YOU LOOK AT CHANGE.”
Seeing things for a different point of view can lead to giant leaps in creativity. Allowing yourself to be the other, and to see the world through a different pair of eyes can inspire you to be a better writer capable of works that are more compelling to the reader.
See it from the other side
Imagine that you are an alien visiting planet for the very first time. Who would you think is running the show down here? Would you automatically assume that it all the hairless bipeds running around holding electronic talking devices to their heads were the ones in charge, or would you assume to that these strange creatures were mere servants to the furry four legged mammals whom they called cat and dog? Perhaps would watch as these “people” cater to these furry creatures, feeding them, bathing them, and even picking up their excrement and automatically assume that they were the ones who were running things.
Choosing to take a step back and allowing yourself to see things from a different perspective is a wonderful way to find your muse and get back on the path to new found creativity. This ice cream world does not merely come in vanilla and chocolate but also neapolitan, rocky road, mango and even sea urchin (if you happen to be in Tokyo). Experience these other flavors and savor the taste of something different. Taste the marshmallow my friend and be inspired.
